Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE delivers and coordinates vocational education and training programs and courses from eight locations in far north Queensland. Each campus services the training needs of local communities and the region.

Atherton campus

The Atherton campus is a major training centre on the Atherton Tablelands west of Cairns. Programs are available in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies, adult education, business, information technology, visual arts, health and community care, nursing and hospitality.

Bamaga campus

The Bamaga campus is located at the top of the Australian mainland near the tip of Cape York Peninsula and plays a vital role in providing vocational education and training to residents of Indigenous communities.

The Campus offers a variety of programs in response to community and industry demand, and is utilised as a centre for remote area delivery.

Cairns campus

The Cairns TAFE Campus is situated in the heart of Cairns, located in the western suburb of Manunda approximately 4 km from the city centre. Surrounded by tropical gardens, the campus provides a friendly, relaxing environment.

It is conveniently located close to all major public facilities including shopping centres, Cairns international airport, train station, shipping ports and bus terminals. Public transport is available to and from the campus.

There is an impressive range of facilities offered at the campus, including a comprehensive library, bookshop, computer rooms with internet facilities, trade workshops and multimedia laboratories with audio-visual facilities.

Students also have access to a Flexible Learning Centre, fashion design/art studios and two galleries, sports facilities, hairdressing and massage training clinics, a cafeteria and coffee shop, award-winning training restaurants and a childcare centre.

Students also have access to music performance spaces. In addition, the campus boasts the only "real-time" GALILEO ticketing software program for use in travel courses in the Southern Hemisphere.

Innisfail campus

The Innisfail campus is a modern, well-equipped facility located in spacious grounds close to the centre of Innisfail, about 90km south of Cairns.

The campus has childcare facilities and is equipped with a canteen.

A wide range of quality training programs include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies, adult education, business, information technology, health and community care, nursing, outdoor industries, tourism, hospitality and engineering.

Torres Strait campus

The Thursday Island campus is Australia's northernmost TAFE campus. Located off the tip of Cape York on Thursday Island, the campus caters for the needs of individuals, communities, businesses and industries from across the Torres Strait region.

The campus plays an active and important role in the community, offering a range of quality training programs across Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies, adult education, business, information technology, health and community care, marine, nursing, outdoor industries, tourism and hospitality.
