TAFE Queensland is offering a unique opportunity for you combine the prowess gained during the Diploma of Sports Development with the exciting experience outdoor recreation to create Adventure Personal Training. You will learn the principles of sports psychology, how to instruct personal training programs, manage small business operations and improve nutritional habits in this very practically designed course. Core components include applying exercise science principles, physical training, exercise instruction and managing projects, all of which can be focussed around training clients for outdoor adventures.
Through TAFE Queensland’s highly respected Outdoor Recreation team, students will gain an understanding of the fundamental core outdoor recreation activities of Bushwalking, canoeing and stand up Paddle Boarding*.
The skill focus will be:
- Learning to read maps and navigate through controlled environments
- Basic Navigation skills including Risk management
- Planning for a Canoeing adventure
- Selecting and operating a canoe
- Applying Safety to a canoeing environment
- Selecting appropriate Paddle Board Equipment
- Navigate through flat water locations
- Basic Safety techniques
The non-accredited Outdoor Recreation component of this program will provide you with the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge to further your interest in the basic skills of Outdoor Recreation.
