How to enrol

Enrolling in a Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE program or course is as easy as 1 - 2 - 3.

  1. Select the program or course you would like to study. You can use the course search page to find out more about programs and courses on offer.
  2. Phone the Enrolments Hotline on 1300 656 959 and talk to one of our consultants about your program choice.
  3. Follow the step-by-step instructions given to you.

Please note that procedures for enrolment can differ from program to program. Students should be aware of the requirements which may be assessed at an interview or audition in order to successfully complete the enrolment. Our friendly consultants will ensure that students have all the information required to enrol.

To confirm a place on the course, simply complete an application form and include the required enrolment fees.

Fast track your study

Students may be able to use existing skills and knowledge to gain credit in a related course or program. By providing appropriate supporting evidence, credit can be awarded under the following assessment systems:

Recognition of Prior Learning

Skills First - Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) can provide credit towards a qualification by measuring previous study, work and life experience against course criteria. More information on RPL.

Credit transfers, mutual recognition and exemptions

Students who have already completed a formal qualification in their intended program at another TAFE institute or Registered Training Organisation (RTO) may be able to apply for credit transfer or exemptions from some courses or programs.

For more information on how to apply for RPL, mutual recognition or credit transfer/exemption, please contact Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE's RPL Coordinator.  Email info.tnqit@deta.qld.gov.au or phone 1300 656 959.

Fees and conditions

All fees for the program of study must be finalised prior to course commencement. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, money order or credit card (excluding Diners Club). Fee concessions may be approved in certain circumstances. An application pack will be issued with an admission advice slip/receipt once payment has been received and should be presented at the first training class/session. Students who wish to withdraw from the program or course, drop or pick up subjects or change personal details (name, address, contact numbers) during a period of study, should advise Admissions staff or phone 1300 656 959.
